Not sure. He seems to be a pick-and-fingers guy, and Chet was all about the fingerpicking. The guy I hear most in this is Jimmy Bryant. But yeah, great player. And Norah Jones' right-hand man.
I had* that Jimmy Bryant-Speedy West compilation on the Razor & Tie label. Amazing stuff! I guess there's a real old school debate out there about who's better-- Bryant or Les Paul.
*Oh yeah, so I loaned that CD to my brother-- and won't be getting it back.
