Advanced Strap Lock Substitute

I have done it.

I have seen it on TDPRI. I have thus blogged it. And now, I have done it.

Those are Danco faucet washers, stock number 61805B. I couldn't find 'em at my local Ace, but they were at Menards. They're rubber, so they stretch over the button, and once they're there, they're not coming off. 67 cents.

As you see, I have 'em on Tila, my blonde guitar, but I might swap them with the Schaller strap locks on my #1.

Assorted Notes

FullCompass.com is having a deal on Moog gear. You know it's pricy if they can afford to take $100 off.

To the right is an attempt to get to know my readership. I discovered/realized today that this blog is locked to people who don't have a Blogger or OpenID account. This keeps out the spammers. It also keeps out people who don't want to create a Blogger or OpenID account. Those who would spam are automated and annoying, but unlikely to read my poll. Those who would comment are much more likely to read it and respond.

The musical director wants to expand from two bands (Sunday and Wednesday) to three, so the Sunday band can switch off on occasion. I'm looking at tryouts next week. Yay me!

Only one good shirt left, and it smells of stale perfume

Ig says it's "Hug Your Guitar Week", with someone hugging a G&L Thinline Tele, or however you say Thinline Tele in G&L. The man hugging that hugworthy guitar was also wearing a t-shirt.

A great t-shirt.

You to can be that cool. $20 for the shirt. Much more for a nice cherryburst G&L with a neck humbucker. But hey, you can buy cool, right?

And can you get me one, too? I'll pay you back!

Isn't it good? Musician's Woot?

It started with Woot. Interesting technological also-rans for cheap. The Big Lots for geeks.

So, where are the deals for musicians?

Musician's Friend now has their Stupid Deal of the Day. Today it is a box of six sets of D'Addario EXL110s with a pint glass for $20. Seeing as I'm hitting $6 or more per string set, I'd say this is a decent deal. Except I'm rocking much heavier strings right now. Still, tempting.

I normally dream to Musician's Friend. My music gear budget is minimal. I've actually ordered from them only once. But the stuff came quickly and was decent enough. (Never pay less than $20 for a harmonica, or you'll get cheap and uncomfortable thing you don't want in your mouth. I blame me more than MF.)
