Happy 232th Birthday, you Eagle of a nation

That's a lot of years. Let's do the same again, and many more!

(The title's a reference to a scene in the movie 1776, a musical about the writing and signing of the Declaration of Independence. And that guitar was an eBay offering that I did not catch, painted for the Bicentennial 32 years ago. I'm thinking about painting a body like that.)

I think that's a pretty cool looking Tele there.
A few months back, I had the opportunity to play one of the original, production, Bigsby Teles. Nice guitar. The Bigsby is an underrated device, in my opinion. A precision machined piece, that stays in tune and doesn't negatively affect the tone of the guitar like some contraptions made out of pot metal.

Ain't it though?

If what you're doing is full-chord vibrato and not whang-barring it all over, it's a fine thing. If you want to make your Les Paul sound like it's crying in outrage and pain, like Neil Young does, it's a wonderful thing.

I'm a hardtail fan, but I certainly wouldn't say no to one.
